Edith Yanez is an experienced business consultant and licensed construction contractor. She is the owner of Heidelberg Design and Build, Inc., a Maryland based construction company serving the Metro D.C. area since 2016. Edith is one of the few women working in a men-dominated industry.
In 2021 Edith reached out to Latinas who wanted to work in construction and founded Latinas in Construction, a D.C. based non-profit organization. What began as an online initiative to help Latinas to become Construction Estimators, is now a source of guidance, inspiration, and support for hundreds of Latinas across the US. The educational program is currently offering 12 different classes. The trainings are affordable and there are scholarships available for women in financial need. The English program is free for all students. The organization holds workshops to educate Latinas about her rights, sexual discrimination, and harassment. All programs are taught in the evenings and on Saturdays.
Through her commitment to excellence and a dedication to professionalism based in compassion, Edith has works tirelessly to educate Hispanic men and women by providing them with essential skills to work and succeed in a very demanding industry and to reach their full potential.
Edith earned her bachelor’s degree in international business administration from Chile in 1999. Later she went on to receive a Digital Marketing certificate from the University of San Franciscoin 2012 and a Branding and Marketing certificate from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2021. She also obtained a Construction Finance Management certificate at Columbia Engineering School of Columbia University of New York in 2022.
